Nursery
The Nursery group represents our youngest students, and is made up of children starting at only 12 months of age.
We feel that the earliest and initial separation from the parents is the hardest, and needs to be fostered in a safe and caring environment. From here, the school can provide stability throughout not only this process, but also serve as a comfort for early education.
We teach based on the philosophy that establishing a positive educational environment early on can help build the foundation for a lifetime of success in learning. In the nursery group, we help each child build a personal self-confidence, not only through independence from their parents, but also through achieving independence in daily routines and activities. Potty training is introduced and encouraged together with parents. As an International Pre-school, we also teach the English language through complete immersion, starting most of our students on a bilingual journey at this early age.

Pre-Toddlers
By the Pre-toddler age, which ranges from 2-3 years, most of our students have already received a strong English basis, and have settled into the school and the routines of being in a structured environment.
At this stage in their development, the focus becomes on socializing each child into more actively involved group activities such as games and organized daily schedules such as circle time, where the children focus on learning concepts and expanding their English vocabulary. It is also within this group that we continue to support potty training, and continue furthering each child’s personal level of independence.

Toddlers
By the age of 2½-3 years, the children are comfortable with being left in a school environment, and have started to adapt individually to their surroundings. At this point, we move the children into a transitional group which we call Toddlers.
The Toddler group acts as a transition between the two sides of the school, namely the younger children, and the older students. We begin to see advanced language/English development at this age, which we foster through the introduction of a British learning program called Jolly Phonics. Within this program, children learn to associate each letter of the alphabet with a corresponding sound rather than the name of the letter, to better prepare them for learning to read and write in our older groups. This also helps them associate the general shape of the letters, and identify them for future writing projects. The toddler group begins to work with basic pencil control, and are taught the digital-pronate grasp, which is the age-appropriate grip for creative applications.
Also at this age we see the completion of the potty training program, the development of more structures daily routines, and a more child-centered focus through artistic expression as our toddlers explore their individual creative processes.

K1
The youngest of our older students, the K1 group represent the beginning of the educational program. Having adopted the Jolly Phonics learning program, and introducing it briefly in the Toddler group, the K1s are equipped with the knowledge and understanding of the dynamics behind reading and writing, and are eager to start absorbing the skills.
Operating under the Play and Learn philosophy, the children develop a deeper enthusiasm for learning as they relate the educational process with the enjoyment of everyday social interactions. Some of the focuses within this group are expanding their level of pencil control focusing on developing the age-appropriate static tripod posture, being able to freely express themselves through artistic projects and expression, socialize and participate in large or small group activities, and understand empathy for and awareness of the world around them.

K2
The oldest students in our schools make up the K2 groups, and represent the final preparatory development for transition into the early elementary schools. The students have, been fully integrated into the Jolly Phonics learning program, and are becoming adept at reading and writing on their own.
The children also begin to more completely understand their role within the world around them, as they participate in awareness lessons involving themes such as their influence on the environment.
We use activity-centered math curriculum for early childhood education. This curriculum is taught using interactive activities, learning games and positive reinforcement of these ideas.
The K2 experience is customized to meet each childs individual needs: socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively. Our daily programs incorporate emergent curriculums which stimulate each childs unique interests, curiosity, sense of discovery and the empowerment of one’s own ideas and feelings!
